iKey has announced that its DW-860 keyboard is now compatible with the Sterrad 100NX sterilization system.
Designed to combat cross-contamination in hospital, laboratory, and dental settings, iKey's medical keyboards are fully sealed to be resistant to disinfectants, other fluids, and debris. The DW-860 is the only keyboard on the market that is endorsed to be fully compatible with this sterilization method, according to the company.
Manufactured by Advanced Sterilization Products, the Sterrad 100NX utilizes low-temperature hydrogen peroxide gas plasma sterilization to provide a rapid disinfection method for medical instruments.
iKey's DW-860 wireless medical keyboard was tested for compatibility and efficacy with the Sterrad 100NX system in accordance with Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)/International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards. After 100 47-minute cycles, the keyboard passed functionality testing and was declared fully compatible with the sterilization method, according to the company.
"iKey is excited by the compatibility of the DW-860 keyboard with the Sterrad 100NX system because it gives our customers an additional sterilization method not available with other products," said Kacee Pals, iKey sales manager, in a press release.
