AAP president, president-elect installed

The American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) Board of Trustees installed both its president and president-elect, Donald S. Clem III, D.D.S., and Pamela McClain, D.D.S., respectively, during its annual meeting, October 29 through November 2, 2010, in Hawaii.

An AAP member since 1982, Dr. Clem previously served on the Board of Trustees as president-elect in 2010, vice president in 2009, and secretary/treasurer in 2008. In addition to the Board of Trustees, Dr. Clem has served on multiple academy committee's and task forces, including the Strategic Planning Committee, Education Committee, and the Editorial Liaison Committee.

Dr. McClain began her dental career as a dental hygienist. She now maintains a full-time private periodontal practice in Aurora, CO, and also holds an appointment as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry. She has been a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 1992.
