Hoya ConBio has extended its sponsorship agreement with the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). The agreement ensures that VersaWave and DioDent Micro 980 lasers will continue to be featured at LVI's advanced teaching facilities through 2013.
"We understand the importance of hands-on education in laser dentistry and recognize LVI's leadership in providing comprehensive training to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience," said Timothy Gehlmann, president and CEO of Hoya ConBio, in a press release.
VersaWave and DioDent Micro 980 lasers are featured at LVI's 62,000-sq-ft postdoctoral dental educational facility. The clinic features two 10-operatory teaching clinics, a 60 bench hands-on workshop, and six lecture halls. The curriculum includes courses on restorative, occlusal and aesthetic dentistry, orthodontics, implants, endodontic procedures, sleep apnea, laboratory, and practice management. Hoya ConBio lasers are also featured at LVI Global in Australia.
At LVI, the VersaWave erbium hard-tissue laser is used for soft-tissue smile design, smile lift procedures, frenectomies, and hard-tissue applications in closed flap, open flap, and preprosthetic surgical procedures. The DioDent Micro 980 is used in a variety of procedures, including excisional and incisional biopsies, fibroma removal, gingivectomy, gingivoplasty, oral papillectomies, and sulcular debridement.
