Agile Sciences has been awarded a $252,000 National Institutes of Health (NIH) Phase I Small Business Innovation Research grant to study the effectiveness of its proprietary compounds to inhibit and disperse the oral biofilms of pathogenic bacteria associated with dental caries.
"We are delighted to now have the dedicated resources that will enable us to pursue this exciting application for our biofilm dispersion technology. Initial work indicates promise in dispersing these oral biofilms, so we are eager to validate that capability," said Christian Melander, Ph.D., co-founder of Agile Sciences in a press release.
