West Coast University has announced that the Dental Hygiene Clinic at its Anaheim campus will offer the public free dental hygiene services. The services will include oral inspection and risk assessment, digital and traditional imaging, preventative therapies, and nonsurgical periodontal therapy.
The clinic is dedicated to improving the dental health of those who may not have the means to visit a private practice dental facility for dental hygiene preventive and therapeutic care, according to the university. Patients must have qualifying dental hygiene needs to take advantage of this free service.
Under the supervision of licensed dentists and registered dental hygienists, the dental hygiene students provide oral healthcare and educational services to the local community
"The West Coast University Dental Hygiene Clinic serves as an educational facility to support the clinical learning needs of the students enrolled in the Dental Hygiene program," said Jeb Egbert, M.B.A., Ed.D., provost and chief academic officer of West Coast University in a press release. "Each component of the facility has been designed to provide clinic patients with top-quality services using advanced technology and, best of all, at no cost to them."
More information about the clinic, service hours, and scheduling appointments is available on the university's Web site.
