DentaQuest, the largest administrator of government dental programs in the U.S., has donated thousands of toothbrushes, toothpastes, and floss to World Vision to distribute to children in Haiti, the company announced.
"After witnessing the major destruction left by the earthquakes in Haiti and the heart-wrenching misfortune placed upon the families left to start anew, we were thankful to find World Vision to help us in getting oral health supplies to Haiti," said Alison Cardenas, executive director of client services in Florida for Atlantic Dental, a DentaQuest company. "As a company that is committed to improving oral healthcare for the underserved in Florida and across the nation, we felt it was our duty to help our neighbors and provide these products to the children and families in Haiti during this time of need."
In 2009, the DentaQuest Foundation allocated more than $500,000 to support oral health projects and programs in Florida.
