Dear DrBicuspid Member,
If you were in San Antonio this past week, I hope you had a comfortable pair of walking shoes. I'm sure glad I did!
The ADA meeting certainly kept us on our toes for several days. We attended some great CE sessions, talked to a number of enthusiastic vendors, and met many DrBicuspid.com members and fans -- old and new. Our membership is about to hit 15,000, and we are so proud to be providing the dental community with the kind of news and information they appreciate on a daily basis.
In addition to launching our new Dental Advisor page and our Word of Mouth blog page at the ADA meeting, we provided daily coverage of sessions and events, plus a photo gallery that captured many special moments throughout the conference. You can check out our entire ADA coverage here; the stories include:
- It's all in your attitude. Humor and a willingness to take risks are keys to personal and professional success, according to one ADA speaker.
- Stay the course. Despite the cyclone hitting financial markets in recent weeks, ADA members can still protect their investments through the ADA Members Retirement Program.
- High-tech office on a low-tech budget. It's possible to equip your office with many of the latest gadgets that not only impress your patients but reduce costs, improve efficiency, and generate new revenues.
- Root canal or dental implant? That is the question. Many factors, from ethical considerations to the patient's overall health, must be considered in this important decision, according to Charles Goodacre, D.D.S., M.S.D.
- The three R's of traditional education have taken on new meaning in contemporary endodontics, where they now stand for rotary files, resin, and regeneration.
Also, be sure to visit our new Word of Mouth page, where columnists and bloggers from the dental community share their thoughts and advice several times a week. Dr. Helaine Smith, for example, feels the ADA could do a better job of public education, while Richard Geller says that, despite the natural impulse to cut back on advertising during tough times, now could be the right time to increase your advertising budget. And in Talking Pictures, Dr. Allan Farman and Dr. Ted Parks share their thoughts on topics ranging from selection criteria for imaging to the latest cone-beam technologies. Read more.
Finally, we want to thank those of you who have submitted cases for Case of the Week. We've received some good ones that we'll be posting on the site in coming weeks, and we're always on the lookout for more.
