Dicom Systems has been awarded a contract for a vendor-neutral archive (VNA) from the Dental Information and Statistics Center (DISC) in Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.
The company's Unifier Enterprise Archive is designed to consolidate disparate imaging systems into one repository and provide enterprise-wide access to all medical images and medical records.
DISC plans to migrate more than 27 million dental exams from its current archive into the Dicom Systems Unifier Archive. Dicom Systems also will perform real-time reconciliation of new and existing records with the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) to ensure up-to-date patient demographics are available in the VNA.
The Unifier Archive also will offer long-term storage without the need for additional storage.
