As we approach the end of the year, the distractions multiply. The holidays will soon be here and that means family gatherings, preparations, shopping, travel, etc. Without strong leadership, your practice could limp to the finish line. Use morning meetings and encouragement throughout the day to build momentum, so your practice can finish the year strong.

Do

Tie up loose ends. Reach out to active patients who are overdue for their hygiene appointment. If they have dental insurance, remind them that they will lose any unused benefits before year's end. Also, contact patients undergoing phased treatment who canceled or missed an appointment. These reminders will help fill your schedule during the last six weeks of the year.

Don

Don't slip into cruise control. With the holidays approaching, there can be a tendency to phone it in. Don't let that happen with you or your team. Continue to bring your "A" game every day. By powering through to the end of the year, you put your practice is in the best position to start January on the right note.
