Lead your practice to greater success
As a leader, are you "walking the walk" or hiding behind the talk? Leadership is often the quality that separates the great practices from the good ones. Due to the multiple demands placed on the dentist, it can be challenging to successfully manage a practice and lead a team. By enhancing your leadership skills, you can help take your practice to the next level.
Use these Practice Success Dos & Don'ts to enhance your leadership and build a better practice:
Lead by example. The best way to earn the team's respect is to "walk the walk." The way you behave will have a significant effect on how the team acts. If you come in late two or three times a week, you can't expect your staff to arrive on time. Your team is looking to you for leadership guidance, and the best strategy is to lead by example.
Don't micromanage. To achieve optimal efficiency, delegate responsibilities to team members. You hired your team to do a job -- let them do it! Good leaders create a vision and mission for the organization, share them with the team, and then move out of the way.
