Dental insurer United Concordia has named James Bramson, DDS, of Hinsdale, IL, as its new chief dental officer.
Dr. Bramson will replace Jerome Blum, DDS, corporate dental director of United Concordia, who will retire in January 2012.
Dr. Bramson will oversee the company's professional relations department, professional quality assurance activities, utilization review, claims review process, and clinical aspects of product offerings and communications, according to the ocmpany. He will also work closely with local offices on regulatory issues, membership development, and subscriber expectations and to help develop proposals for major clients, customers, shareholders, and business partners.
Prior to joining United Concordia, Dr. Bramson was president of Bramson & Company, a consulting firm for the healthcare industry. From 2001 to 2008, Dr. Bramson was executive director for the ADA and secretary for the ADA Foundation, where he helped improve access to children's oral healthcare by creating the Give Kids A Smile Day program.
