Proposed cuts to the Washington state budget could affect a dental clinic for farm workers, according to a report by KIMA-TV.
The State Legislature is considering a proposal to cut $30 million from the budget of the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, the TV channel said.
On the chopping block are checkups and cleanings; only emergency care would remain, the report said, adding that the program currently serves more than 50,000 patients.
The Legislature will make its final decision in July, the station reported.
