If you get the scheduling system right, other systems can be built to excellence. If you get it wrong, other systems can only reach certain levels of maximum potential regardless of how well they are designed. Take the time to analyze the schedule mathematically and then build an ideal schedule that will not only increase production but lower stress and fatigue.

Practice Success Do

Set annual production goals. Schedules should be based on setting an annual production goal. If your practice does not have an exact production goal every year, you are making the first and most fundamental mistake.

Practice Success Dont

Don’t forget to establish a rigorous daily production goal. Once the annual production goal is set, it gets broken down into a daily goal. The front desk team must be trained to understand that their No. 1 objective is to build the schedule to hit the daily production goal. They must understand the protocols, deliver five-star customer service, and not continually make exceptions.
