California has delayed the deadline for dentists, registered dental hygienists, and registered dental assistants to file for license renewal until February 2021.
Licensed professionals, including dental professionals, in the state now have through February 26, 2021, to complete the continuing education needed to renew their licenses. However, professionals must still pay renewal fees and complete other necessary forms by their respective renewal due dates.
The California Department of Consumer Affairs announced the latest postponement in an August 27 letter. State law allows the department to waive statutory or regulatory renewal requirements during a state of emergency, which Gov. Gavin Newsom declared in March in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
