Awrel has introduced Emergency Dental Virtual Assistant, a web-based conversational assistant designed to remotely answer questions and provide dental emergency screening and triage.
The chatbot, which can be added to an existing website by embedding a single snippet of code, utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to enable 24/7 remote triage and management of dental emergencies, according to the company. The tool collects relevant information and provides patients with clinically vetted recommendations on next-step actions, Awrel said.
Dental providers receive chatbot notifications via HIPAA-compliant text messaging and can then follow up by communicating with patients via phone or Awrel's HIPAA-compliant texting application, the company said. What's more, data exchanged via the Awrel chatbot and texting applications can also be transferred to the patient's dental record.
