A dental assistant was among eight people killed in a New York City building explosion that also injured more than 70.
Carmen Tanco, 67, was among those confirmed dead when a gas leak explosion collapsed two buildings March 12 in Harlem, according to a nbcnewyork.com story.
Griselde Camacho also was killed. Both Tanco and Camacho lived at 1644 Park Ave. and were home when the explosion occurred. Tanco's family set off on a frantic search when she didn't show up for work Wednesday, according to the story.
Tanco and Camacho attended the same church, Bethel Gospel Assembly, where both regularly volunteered their time.
Tanco was involved in international mission trips, where she volunteered her dental assistant services, according to church officials.
