Dental Practice Made Simple is a video series from DrBicuspid.com and Levin Group. Tune in every Wednesday for a quick tip from Dr. Roger P. Levin to learn how to build high-powered, proven systems that lead to practice success.
If you're a dentist and you want to make your life easier, there's one thing you need to do: delegate, Levin said in the latest episode of Dental Practice Made Simple. Delegation is crucial to success in both business and a thriving dental practice.
"Ask yourself, 'What am I doing that someone else can do?' A lot of times, you're doing it because it's just a habit," he said.
Levin advised finding one thing to delegate to a team member each week. He also recommended the following five steps when delegating a task:
- Explain what you are delegating.
- Explain the expected result.
- Explain any information about accepting the task.
- Have check-in steps.
- Measure the final result.
"Those five steps of delegation will revolutionize your practice. Start to gradually bit by bit take things off your back and give them to someone else without overwhelming them." Levin said.
