Do's and don'ts for social media

Social media offers a wonderful opportunity to reach out to patients and the community, drive your brand, and have fun. The truth is that social media success for dental practices is about creating fun and interesting communications. You can dig in deeply to algorithms and data, but generally patients are interested in relating to people or places that make life fun, interesting, or inspiring.

Do

Make it fun. Share funny images, photos, contests, and inspirational messages through social media and give prizes and gift cards to your patients. This will create the type of environment that people want to be part of. All it takes is a little creative thinking.

Don

Don't forget to be consistent. Many practices get started and then stop updating their social media accounts, then get started again only to trail off again. Inconsistency hurts social media presence to a large degree. Develop an effective social media plan and stick to it.
