Your patients may have some anxiety about visiting your office, but at least they don't have to wait long. A new survey reported that patients seeing a general dentist have the shortest wait time on average of any U.S. doctor's office.
Healthcare resource company Vitals said the average wait time in a general dentist's office was eight minutes, 27 seconds, compared with an overall U.S. average for all practitioners of 18 minutes, 35 seconds. Not surprisingly, the longest wait was to see a doctor in an emergency department, at an average of 23 minutes, 16 seconds.
The company analyzed reviews left by patients for dentists, physicians, chiropractors, psychologists, and other healthcare practitioners to determine average office wait times.
