The second day of the California Dental Association's CDA Presents 2016 meeting in Anaheim, CA, offered practical workshops and presentations on clinical, reimbursement, and practice management topics, as well as dozens of new products from hundreds of exhibitors in the over 130,000-sq-foot exhibit hall.
View the slideshow below for some of the highlights from the second day of the meeting.
Jochen Kusch, executive vice president of marketing and sales for SICAT, a Sirona company, demonstrates the company's SICAT Air, which provides a 3D analysis of the patient's upper airway.
FIS displayed the OralChroma, which uses a patient's breath and data management software to measure three major halitosis components: hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, and dimethyl sulfide. A practitioner takes a sample of a patient's breath using a needleless syringe, then plugs the syringe into the device. The device measures the volatile sulfide components in the breath and separates them into the above three components in an easy-to-read report.
Friday saw considerable traffic on the exhibit floor, as thousands of dentists, hygienists, oral health professionals, and students sampled new products and took advantage of discount offers.
One of the pleasures of any conference, but especially CDA, is getting to talk with practitioners and innovators outside of the formal boundaries of an interview. Here is Kiltesh Patel, founder and CEO of 2015 Dental Excellence Award-winning company Tab32, with DrBicuspid.com Editor-in-Chief Tony Edwards.
