A-dec launches new ergonomic stools, foot control

A-dec has launched its new 500 line of stools and a lever-style foot control to encourage proper posture and positioning for dental professionals.

The new stools provide pressure relief support by a dynamic seat assembly that enables good leg circulation, while setting up the lower lumbar for proper, healthy torso posture, according to the company. Both the doctor and assistant stools feature a dynamic seat designed on a suspension frame that flexes and conforms to body movement. The middle layer of the seat is engineered with four individual performance zones for tailored comfort and support, and easy-to-access paddles are microadjustable for each user and task, allowing practitioners to remain in an ergonomically healthy posture throughout the day.

The new lever foot control is engineered for improved electric motor control and allows the operator to switch between cutting wet or dry, without looking away from the oral cavity. The design allows more operator weight transfer from seat to feet, enabling an "athletic stance" and "S" curvature of the spine. Once the desired handpiece speed is reached, the operator can rest his or her feet flat on the floor and work in a more relaxed state, according to A-dec.
