Brian Hill, director and founder of the Oral Cancer Foundation (OCF), was honored for his advocacy work at the recent Global Oral Cancer Forum.
Hill received the 2016 Global Oral Cancer Forum Commitment, Courage and Innovation Leadership Award, according to the OCF. The forum event included global oral cancer thought leaders, researchers, treatment physicians, other nonprofit organizations, and representatives from government agencies.
Hill, a stage IV oral cancer survivor, founded the OCF after his diagnosis. Since then, he has championed antitobacco legislation and is an advocate at various government entities regarding vaccination of boys against the HPV virus.
