Forward Science Technologies, the developer of the OralID cancer screening device, has donated a fifth device as part of its OralID Facebook Charity Campaign to Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare Dental Residency Program in New Hartford, NY.
The campaign was launched in May 2014 as a way to give back to underserved communities and spread public awareness of oral cancer. During the campaign, which will continue in 2016, the company will donate an OralID device to a nonprofit organization for every 500 "Likes" on the OralID Facebook page.
In November, the OralID Facebook page reached 2,500 likes, and the public voted for Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare to receive the screening device. Faxton St. Luke's mission is to provide postdoctoral training for dental residents while fulfilling the unmet dental needs of the community.
"We are extremely grateful to Forward Science for donating their OralID oral screening device to our dental residency training program," stated James Rozanski, DDS, director of dental services for Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare, in a press release. "Many of our patients have the highest risk factors for oral cancer and other oral diseases, so this device will be an invaluable addition to the services we provide."
