Laser and CAD/CAM scanner company Biolase reported flat revenue for its fiscal first quarter of 2017.
For the quarter (end-March 31), net revenue was $10.9 million, a decrease of 1% compared with the same period of 2016. The revenue decrease was attributed to a decline in international sales, which was offset by increased U.S. sales, according to the company.
Biolase reported a net loss of $4.1 million, down from $4.3 million in the same quarter of the previous year. The company attributed the decrease in net loss to a reduction in cost of revenue resulting in an increase in gross profit.
The company is also involved in the dental imaging equipment market, including digital radiography systems and CAD/CAM scanners.
