Dental laser manufacturer Biolase reported a net loss for its fiscal second quarter of 2016, but cut its loss compared with the the same quarter last year.
For the quarter (end-June 30), the company reported a net loss of $3.5 million, which was half of the $7.0 million loss reported in the second quarter of 2015, Biolase noted.
Net revenue increased $1.9 million to $13.8 million, an increase of 16% compared with the same period in 2015. The revenue jump could be attributed to increases in worldwide and U.S. laser and imaging system sales, as well as an increase in international sales of imaging systems, the company said.
Biolase reported a net loss for the six months ended June 30, 2016, of $7.8 million, compared with a net loss of $12.5 million for the first half of 2015.
