Philips Healthcare parent company Royal Philips has met its "sustainable planet" targets and become fully carbon neutral in its operations, according to a February 23 announcement that included the company's 2020 annual results and latest "Human Rights Report 2020."
The company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) framework set forth a Healthy People, Sustainable Planet program to be conducted between 2016 and 2020. In 2020, Philips achieved carbon neutrality, a 100% shift to the use of electricity from renewable sources, and more than 70% of sales from green products and services. It also recycled 90% of its operational waste and sent zero waste to landfill, the company said.
