Virtual care company TeleDentists has launched a professional educational awareness campaign designed to identify and diagnose xerostomia, more commonly known as dry mouth.
The initiative would help dentists, dental hygienists, and oral care professionals better address one of the most common patient conditions. More than 50 medications and numerous patient conditions can cause xerostomia, which, left untreated, can cause serious complications in an oral cavity, according to TeleDentists.
The TeleDentists' platform and access to the network of dentists in the 50 U.S. states enable remote prescribing of products to treat xerostomia, the company noted.
