Week in Review: Dental scaling and knee surgery; associate production; 7 costly words

Frequent dental scaling reduces the risk of infection following knee replacement surgery, according to a new study. As oral bacteria are responsible for almost 15% of infections from these procedures, researchers from Taiwan recommend regular dental checkups and scaling.
