The ADA Foundation has announced Cavan Brunsden, DDS, and Colgate-Palmolive as the winners of the 2015 Smile Champion awards for the Give Kids A Smile program.
The program seeks to address the need for oral healthcare and education for children, and the Smile Champion awards recognize outstanding volunteer and corporate efforts to strengthen and expand the program. The awards will be presented at the ADA Foundation volunteer recognition reception at the ADA annual meeting in November in Washington, DC.
Dr. Brunsden, a pediatric dentist, will receive the Dalin Award. He is the Give Kids A Smile state manager for New Jersey and has been involved with the program since its inception in the state in 2003. Colgate-Palmolive has donated more than $700,000 to the Give Kids A Smile program since 2008 and will receive the Kess Award.
"Give Kids A Smile is an opportunity to establish a trusting relationship with a child, that leads to a lifetime of healthy, happy smiles," Dr. Brunsden stated in a press release. "Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to open the door to those in need so that they can learn the importance of oral healthcare."
