Goodwin Community Health's dental center in Somersworth, NH, recently received several grants to help improve its operations and expand oral care for Strafford County children in need.
Goodwin Community Health is a federally qualified health center that serves 8,000 patients in the Greater Strafford County area, offering primary care, dental care, and behavioral healthcare.
The new funding totals more than $111,000 over the next three years and includes support for school-based and in-house children's dental programs, increased access to preventive oral care for adults, and general dental center operations.
The HNH Foundation Board of Directors awarded a $25,000 grant that will be used to provide restorative oral healthcare to Strafford County second- and third-grade uninsured children. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England awarded an $11,500 grant in support of Goodwin Children's Dental Care Program.
Other grants received include a grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation for $20,000 a year for three years for general operations of the Goodwin Dental Center, and Coggswell Benevolent Trust awarded the center a $14,803 grant so that the dental program can complete an upgrade of software.
