Image Navigation has sold eight of its new DentSim v5 augmented reality dental training simulators to the School of Dentistry and Oral Health at Griffith University in Australia.
The school bought the units for its preclinical Advanced Simulation Lab, according to a press release. In the lab, scheduled to open this summer, students will learn fundamental skills of operative dentistry, the company said.
"After a review of the available educational technologies ... we have selected DentSim for our Advanced Simulation Lab," said Ward Massey, BDS, PhD, professor of dentistry and oral health at the university. "DentSim will enable us to efficiently deploy protocols of learning and skill acquisition that we have discovered in our research."
