Straumann has taken 100% ownership of Brazilian dental implant company Neodent. The purchase extends Straumann's investment in the dental implant segment.
Straumann previously owned just under half of Neodent and paid $216 million for the remaining 51%, according to the company.
Neodent specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of dental implants and related prosthetic components. In 2014, the company revenues grew 8% to $84 million, predominantly in the Brazilian market. Neodent expects to sell about 1 million implants this year.
