Ivoclar Vivadent is acquiring Wieland Dental, a German company that sells CAD/CAM materials, dental alloys, veneering ceramics, and electroplating equipment.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012 and is still subject to approval by the German Federal Cartel Office, according to the company.
Ivoclar Vivadent will acquire the shares of BWK holding company and of the Wieland founding family. Wieland Dental employs 190 people and had sales of $86 million (60 million euros) in 2011.
Wieland Dental will continue operations under its existing name and management.
