A U.K. dentist and three dental firms have been fined for selling teeth-whitening products containing dangerous amounts of hydrogen peroxide.
Dr. Iqbal Kathrada of Hull, England, and three dental companies were ordered to pay more than 10,325 pounds ($16,000) in fines and court costs, according to a story on ThisIsHullandEastRiding.co.uk.
Dr. Kathrada and the company Kasbin, which runs My Dental Health Club; importer Wyten Technology; and distributor Billericay Dental Supply all pleaded guilty to supplying unsafe cosmetic products, the story stated.
They allegedly sold teeth-whitening kits with hydrogen peroxide that was nearly 100 times the above the safe limit.
