A panoramic dental imaging system worth roughly $30,000 was stolen from a dental practice in Deltona, FL, and the thief attempted to sell it on Craigslist and eBay, according to an article in the Daytona Beach News Journal.
Mathew Pare, 25, who was hired to clean the office space after Summer Smiles Family Dental vacated it, and Mathew Simmons, 26, have been charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen property.
All of the practice's contents had been moved except for the panoramic system, which the owner, Cindy Bishop, planned on having the manufacturer move for her. After the theft, Bishop found the equipment listed for sale online and contacted the sheriff's office, who staged a successful sting operation to capture the thieves.
