Diversionary Therapy Technologies (DTT) has completed its first sale of ditto dental to Manhattan Pediatric Dental Group PC.
According to the company, ditto dental is a clinical tool that has been shown to reduce anxiety and stress for children aged 3 to 14 years. It offers procedural stories in a video format, covering all dental procedures, to help prepare the children and their families for their treatment. By showing the videos before the procedure, treatment times have been shortened, anxiety reduced and better overall patient outcomes have resulted, the company stated in a press release.
The portable device uses augmented reality, a multimodal, sensory-based distraction medium to engage children. The console also includes interactive games and immersive stories to engage the patient while waiting for procedures.
DTT will formally debut the ditto dental at the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry 65th Annual Session in San Diego, May 24-27.
