French insurance giant Axa has put Denplan, U.K.'s largest dental insurance company, up for sale, according to an article in the Telegraph.
The asking price for Denplan is 100 million pounds ($157 million U.S.), the Telegraph reported.
The company covers some 1.8 million patients served by 6,500 U.K. dentists. Business has improved over the past 10 years when increasing number of Britons opted for cosmetic treatments. In 2010, the company listed profits of 11.9 million pounds ($17.2 million) and 25.4 million pounds ($40 million) in sales.
Axa has been re-evaluating its presence in the U.K. market while focusing on general insurance, wealth management, and other aspects of healthcare, the article stated.
