Desktop Health is launching SmileGuard, a light-curable biocompatible material used to 3D print bite splints and other orthodontic and dental appliances.
Besides bite splints, dentists and labs can also 3D print night guards and mouthguards with the SmileGuard resin. SmileGuard was recently granted 510(k) clearance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The company also highlighted the resin's resistance to teeth grinding, clenching, and abrasions.
