B&D Dental has increased its dental zirconia and coloring patent portfolio to eight with a recently issued patent, No. 10,463,457, from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The company's dental zirconia-related patents cover the most commonly used zirconia material types and multiple zirconia production methods.
In announcing the patent, B&D said that it believes that infringement in the dental industry on its patent infrastructure is "pervasive" and that it intends to enforce its intellectual property where unauthorized infringement occurs.
The firm said it would begin notifying dental companies that it believes are infringing in coming months.
