Overjet announced the expansion of its artificial intelligence (AI) software into dental clinics across the U.S. The plans are backed by U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance of Overjet's Dental Assist platform and $27 million in funding, according to the company.
The financing nearly quadrupled Overjet's lifetime haul of previous fundraising, which totaled $10 million. General Catalyst and Insight partners led the series A financing round, with additional funding from the E14 Fund, which provides money to startups with connections to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Overjet plans to use the funding to support its goal of bringing its platform to dental clinics around the U.S. and to develop new AI-based tools and systems to improve dentistry.
