Voxelogix, a dental implant company, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection yesterday in Texas, according to a news story in the San Antonio Express-News.
Voxelogix developed a dental procedure called NeXsmile, which involved taking a 30-second CT scan of a patient's mouth and using the data to devise a plan to replace missing or failing teeth with titanium implants.
The company said it had been hurt by the down economy and lacked the financial resources it needed to grow.
Voxelogix claimed no assets and nearly $636,000 in liabilities, according to the Express-News.
