The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative announced on July 10 that several categories of medical devices were now exempt from the 25% tariffs imposed on devices imported from China, according to a notice in the Federal Register.
Dental x-ray alignment and positioning apparatus, each valued at more than $5,000, are now exempt from the tariff. Other categories exempt include surgical and radiotherapy devices. The exemption is retroactive to July 6, 2018.
