i-CAT, a brand member of the KaVo Kerr Group, has launched the i-CAT FLX MV (medium field-of-view) 3D cone-beam system.
The features of the i-CAT FLX MV system deliver greater clarity, ease-of-use, and control for clinicians who need a medium field-of-view and a range of image sizes to fit a variety of needs, according to the company.
The system includes the following features:
- Medium field-of-view to capture up to both arches and the temporomandibular joints in 3D
- Visual iQuity advanced image technology for clear 3D and 2D images
- Lower dose scan options, including QuickScan+ settings for full-dentition 3D imaging at a dose comparable to a 2D panoramic
- SmartScan Studio touchscreen for selecting the appropriate scan for each patient
- Ability to capture traditional 2D panoramic images with i-PAN
- Integration with CAD/CAM programs
The new system offers a balance between image quality and as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) radiation dose for clinical control and optimized patient care, the company noted. High-resolution, volumetric images provide complete 3D views for more thorough analysis of bone structure and tooth orientation.
In addition, comprehensive planning tools streamline workflow and help clinicians move from scanning to consultation and treatment planning in less than one minute, according to the company. i-CAT FLX MV also features Tx Studio 5.3, the latest version of the treatment planning software.
"With the launch of the i-CAT FLX MV, dental professionals can invest in a medium field-of-view that captures the anatomical area specific to their treatment focus." said Rick Matty, director of marketing for i-CAT, in a press release. "As a result, we are serving more dentists by providing i-CAT quality in a model that fits most every practice."
