3DISC Imaging has introduced the FireCR Dental Reader, a compact, affordable computed radiography (CR) system designed to provide rapid, high-quality reading of reusable dental imaging plates.
With its small footprint, the FireCR Dental Reader fits into even the most space-challenged dental offices and exam rooms, according to the company.
The FireCR Dental Reader is DICOM 3.0-compatible with existing systems and uses reusable bitewing and intraoral imaging plates rather than intraoral digital sensors. In addition, a true size 4c imaging plate is available so technicians don't have to use software stitching to combine images from two size 3 plates.
The FireCR Dental Reader also features a color touchscreen LCD panel and an automated, magnetized feeding tray.
The FireCR Dental Reader will be on display at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) meeting in Chicago, November 25-30. The product will be available worldwide in the first quarter of 2013.
