Grupo Fleury has acquired Grupo Papaiz, a company that offers dental diagnostic services -- including tomography, intraoral and extraoral radiography, and orthodontic documentation -- through eight patient service centers in São Paulo.
Grupo Fleury will hold 51% of Grupo Papaiz, while its strategic partner, Odontoprev, will control the remaining 49%, the companies noted in a press release.
All nine current shareholders are dentists and will continue to develop their current functions after the deal closes. Three of them will remain with management activities.
The acquisition expands Grupo Fleury's role in the Brazilian healthcare market and provides the company with new opportunities in what it says is an underpenetrated market segment in that country.
Brazil has about 240,000 dentists, Grupo noted.
