Sirona saw a decrease in both sales and income for the third quarter of 2012 (end-June 30) year over year.
The company reported revenues of $242 million for the quarter, a 1.1% decrease from revenues of $245 million for the same quarter a year ago. Net income for the quarter was $30.3 million versus $36.3 million in the third quarter of 2011.
Revenue in the U.S. increased 7.7%, while revenues outside the U.S. decreased 4.6% (up 6.6% constant currency), although the company saw particularly robust performance in the Asia-Pacific region.
Treatment centers and CAD/CAM led Sirona's growth, up 13.3% and 9.5%, respectively, on a constant currency basis, the company noted.
