Interest in cone-beam CT (CBCT) scanners at the recent China Dental Exhibition and Scientific Conference in Beijing was high and generated a large number of orders, according to an article in China Daily.
KaVo Dental reportedly sold more than 100 units in China last year, mostly to medical schools and hospitals, according to the report.
The Chinese implant market is driving this growth, a sales rep for KaVo told China Daily, noting that about 20 million dental implants are placed each year in China, with each requiring a scan before surgery.
