Sirona Q2 revenues up 15%

Sirona Dental Systems reported continued strong growth in revenues and net income for the second fiscal quarter of 2010 (end-March 31). Revenue was $190.1 million, an increase of $25.3 million (15.4%) over the second quarter of 2009, while net income was $17.5 million, up from $600,000 in the same quarter a year ago.

"Our innovative product launches and technologically advanced portfolio continue to drive our performance," said Jost Fischer, chairman, president, and CEO, in a press release. "This was highlighted by robust sales of our Galileos 3D imaging system, which benefited from heightened interest in our Galileos Cerec integration."

Revenue in the U.S. increased by 7.7%, particularly driven by strong sales of Sirona's Galileos 3D imaging system, the company noted. Outside the U.S., revenue increased by 19.2% (up 12.5% in constant currency), driven by strength in Germany and Australia.
