Aribex has reached a settlement in a patent infringement case involving Sigma Biomedics, Dentalaire Products, and DigiMed, the company announced.
Aribex had filed suit against the three companies in October 2009, alleging infringement of U.S. Patent No. 7,496,178 for a handheld x-ray device.
Sigma and Dentalaire distribute the Bio-Ray Prox, a portable x-ray device manufactured in Korea by DigiMed. Under terms of the settlement agreement, Sigma, Dentalaire, and DigiMed have discontinued distributing the Bio-Ray Prox and similar handheld x-ray devices within the U.S., according to Aribex.
Other terms of the settlement agreement are confidential. None of the parties admitted any liability.
