3Shape, a provider of dental 3D scanning and CAD software solutions, has entered into a partnership with EnvisionTec, a rapid prototyping equipment manufacturer, the companies announced.
As a first result, 3Shape and EnvisionTec have launched a new automated interface that enables "seamless integration" between the standard 3Shape Dental System and EnvisionTec printers, they stated.
"We are very pleased with the integration between the 3Shape scanners and EnvisionTec printers making 3Shape customers able to seamlessly print high-quality wax patterns and virtual generated models created in the 3Shape software," said Rune Fisker, vice president for product strategy at 3Shape, in a press release. "With the launch of the powerful 3Shape D700 impression scanner applying unique two-camera and adaptive scanning technology, dental laboratories are directly able to scan the impression and virtually create models, reducing cost and turnaround time."
